Here are some quick facts about the cause ...

Almost 1 billion people do not have access to clean waterand 2.4 billion lack access to safe sanitation.

Many people in Malawi, Africa, still rely on shallow, hand dug wells or surface waterbodies that are contaminated with bacteria, parasites or toxic chemicals.

Poor quality water can have serious health implications including: diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dysentery; higher rates of child mortality; and greater chance of infection amongst mothers and newborns.

Can you imagine getting up early in the morning to fetch water for your family from a dirty stream, then walking miles and miles home with a heavy bucket, and then having to go to school? Our fall event, the Walk for Freshwater, is a fundraiser to provide water and sanitation to five schools in Malawi.

Participants will walk a 3K and engage in activities that simulate a day in the life of a Malawian student. Attendees will also enjoy live music, prizes, and giveaways. The event is family-friendly with the target audience of high school students and adults in Golden and the surrounding communities. Participants can register as an individual or join a fundraising team to complete most money raised.

Again, to join this amazing cause please Go Here to register and create your very own fundraising team.

Thanks so much for your support and let me know if you have any questions.
