Access to fresh, clean water and safe sanitation can often be taken for granted.
In Malawi, Africa, people regularly have to drink, cook and bathe with dirty, diseased water. When there are no bathrooms at school, girls drop out because of the embarrassment of open defecation and menstruation. Lack of hand washing facilities allow water-borne diseases to quickly spread. And where there is NO clean water, there is NO joy.
Freshwater Project International provides clean water, safe sanitation & hygiene facilities to people in villages, schools and health centers in Malawi, Africa.
Our approach is unique in that we focus on one country and partner with communities to create projects that have a high level of impact and sustainability. The JOY of FRESHWATER means that people in Malawi can enjoy good health, attend school, provide for their families and improve their life quality.
